What are pump body products
Pump body products are composed of two parts: suction chamber and water pressure chamber. The inlet of the water suction chamber and the outlet of the pressurized water chamber are the inlet flange and the outlet flange of the water pump respectively, which are used to connect the water inlet pipe and the water outlet pipe. The water suction chamber is generally a tapered short pipe or straight pipe with equal diameter that gradually shrinks. Its function is to introduce water flow into the impeller and provide the required flow state to the impeller. The function of the pressurized water chamber is to collect the liquid flowing out of the impeller and guide the liquid flow to the outlet. The shape of the pressurized water chamber is very similar to a snail shell, commonly known as a volute, and the impeller is wrapped in the volute.
The top of the pump body products is equipped with vent holes (water filling holes) for vacuuming or water filling. There is a drain hole at the bottom of the casing, which is usually plugged with lag bolts, and is used to empty the accumulated water in the pump body products after shutdown, so as to prevent the internal parts of the pump from rusting and freezing in winter to damage the pump body products. Pump body products are made of materials such as cast iron or cast steel, and their inner surfaces are required to be smooth to reduce hydraulic loss.
